You know those people who are inventive and creative with great imaginations? I am not one of them. At all. So you can imagine how proud I am of this little invention/hack.
We love our EO's. A while back I looked into car diffusers. None had great reviews. We went with the ol' cotton ball method. Lightly saturate a couple and toss them under the seats. Ok, but not ideal. They needed some airflow. I started considering shoving them in the air vents but then imagined them falling in and creating some problem that our terribly unhandy selves would have to pay to be fixed.
Then - a strike of genius. Ok, not really, but better than the clogged air vent method. And Free!
(If you have an old car air freshener and some cotton balls handy. My Mom, aka Santa, puts them in our stockings)
Also, no toxins! Air fresheners are really horrible for your health, y'all. Even the home ones.
The EO scent surprisingly lasts a while. I guess from the heat of the sun warming the car. For the initial soak I use about six or seven drops. The vent flow really helps to circulate the oils. I only add a few drops every week or so. If you wanted a stronger scent, you'd just re-apply more often.
