Where I've Been | Father's Day | Recital

Back to your regularly scheduled blogging. Maybe. We've been busy. y'all. Honestly, coming by here to post hasn't even been on my radar lately. I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that I wanted to get back to taking better care of myself. Last year when I did my whole fitness kick and lost the baby weight, I felt better than I ever had. Working out and eating awesome does wonders for your body and mind. Not that we eat crappy...healthy eating has always been a priority.

After hitting my goal weight and losing my dad, I just kind of fell off. I was seeing my body tone up in ways I never had and I quit working out on a regular basis. Over the past week I've jumped back on and have started to really be conscious about what I cook and about squeezing those workouts in. I'm an anxiety prone person and getting that physical activity in is essential for feeling great. I'm already loving putting some time back towards me and really planning out our meals again.

On top of that, things have just been busy. We've been getting ready for several birthdays, family parties, fathers day, recital and I've been going back and forth with our travel agent on details of our 17 person Disney trip next spring that I'm wearing the "planner" hat for.

Also, Happy Father's Day. We appreciate this guy more than words can say. He works so hard for our family and I know we can always count on his love and support.

This is my second Father's Day without my Dad. At times it still doesn't seem real that he's not here. I grew up with the most selfless and loving father who always showed through his actions that I was the center of his universe. My Mom, kids and I were very lucky to have him in our lives. I miss my Dad every day.

Now, on to recital. I couldn't have asked for a better recital day for Finley. It was so special and so much fun. Her class was really entertaining and I think the whole theater was giggling. The school goes all the way up to high school seniors so it was cool getting to watch the big girl routines too. I love the school that we chose for F. They put on a great show and the dancers (and teachers) are just awesome. The DVD we ordered should be here in a couple of weeks. Finley had a whole crew there to support her. We are so lucky to have such great people to love our babies. Joe even commented on how much he enjoyed it and that he can't wait till' next year.

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. We're off to a birthday party this afternoon. Joe and I are going to see Jurassic World tonight when he gets off work and then tomorrow we're celebrating our nieces 8th Birthday at the water park!

  1. Finley looks so cute in her recital costume. Glad everything went well. Happy Father's Day to your hubby!

  2. I am so there with you! Life has taken off so fast and I have little time for blogging these days. I miss it, but I am also enjoying all of the family time. I guess we all need a break every once in a while. With all of the traveling we have done Hubby and I have fallen off the working out and eating right wagon. It’s wearing on us! We are ready to get back into being healthy. Love the recital pictures, so sweet!
