Finley's New Bedroom Inspiration & Purchases

Our appraisal on the house was this past Monday. We close in twenty two days. Lots and lots of planning on my plate. I'm overwhelmed. A whole house to decorate, from scratch. My crazy perfectionist self is having to grasp the reality that it will take some time before everything is how I'd like for it to be, which is easier said than done.

Luckily, over the past few days I've been able to hone in on one room instead of trying to plan.all.the.things. And I made some progress - The's idea for Finley's new room, one that I'm really excited about.

Today I picked up her bedding set and some buckets that I'll use somewhere in there. I couldn't pass them up because they go perfect with the look I have in mind.

That's just the picture from the package.

This is going to require some furniture painting. Her bed and dresser are currently espresso. I'm going to use chalk paint. This is my first furniture painting experience. I know that you don't have to sand or prep when using chalk paint, so that's a plus.

Anyone have any chalk paint brand recommendations or tips? I need something with good coverage since I don't want to do any distressing.

  4. I haven't used it myself because I am lazy :) but my mother-in-law has darn near repainted everything in her house with Annie Sloan chalk paint. I must say it looks great! She painted a dresser, two twin beds, outdoor furniture and more.

  5. Love the inspiration for the room. I have those same little buckets, they make such great deco. Did you see they have a lot of new pastel ones at Target now?
