Valentines Crafts

I know I've been saying how glad I am to be over the holidays, and I am, but now I'm kind of missing a reason to do fun crafts. Luckily there's Valentines day on the way.

Honestly, we really don't "do" Valentines but I figure now that that Finley understands holidays we should probably start doing at least something, which gives us a reason for crafts! She is really obsessed with decorations. For every recent holiday she's helped me decorate and then when it's time to take them all down she asks "what's coming next?"

I'm a sucker for kid hand print crafts. We've been doing them since both kids were itty bitty. I still remember having some of my own when I was little and putting my kid hands up to my baby hand crafts and seeing how much they had grown. This year we did the same with both our kids and their prints from last year. They both grew so much.

The red "heart" hands are on wood from Hobby Lobby. The "Love" one is on canvas.

The feet are Carson's and the hand is Finley's.

Valentines, Love

I did these blocks after bedtime. They were so simple. The wood comes pre-cut at Hobby Lobby and was a whole $3.99 for a four pack (I used a 40% off coupon). I traced and cut the pretty paper to size and glued it on. Then I stuck the glitter letter stickers on. The plan was to modge podge over it all but I decided to wait because I think I'm going to do something for Easter or maybe even something year round on the other side. I'll modge podge over them after that.

Valentines

I also did the Garland after the kids went down. It was really simple. I just threaded a needle on the string and poked it through the felt hearts and pom pom's. I'm definitely going to be making more of these for other occasions.

Since we've been doing crafty stuff, Finley wanted to work on her new bird house. We haven't taken it outside yet because it's COLD but she decided it needed to be on display too. It's now hanging from our blinds string. She's super proud.

  4. Such cute craft ideas! I'm not really into Valentine's Day (I'm a bigger believer in making everyday feel like it's Valentine's Day/our anniversary) but I'd love to try some of these :)
