Baby makes FOUR!

That's right, we are expecting! I am just over 13 weeks pregnant and due on August 14th.

Since baby was planned, we knew very early on. We told close family right away. We recently made the announcement to the rest of the world on Tuesday. We're very excited to complete our little family.

Along with this pregnancy comes lots of planning. Just like last time, I'm high risk. I had my Cerclage surgery on Wednesday to *hopefully* prevent my cervix from shortening again. At the time it was measuring 3.3cm,  not bad but not amazing. It's still early. We know that my shortening last time happened sometime between 12 and 20 weeks, when it was discovered and the emergency stitches put in. Hopefully since I had the stitches placed earlier as a preventative we can stop some of the shortening that happened with Finley. Fingers crossed! I'm feeling a little sore from the surgery but not too bad. Just taking it easy for a few days. We hope to keep this baby in until at least the beginning of August. Finley came three weeks early at 37 weeks due to my blood pressure issues but the goal this time is 38 weeks. Hold strong, cervix, hold strong!

On Tuesday we had our NT Scan and should have the results from that and the blood gender test in by the beginning of the week. We haven't gotten much into names just yet as we want to wait until we know if baby is a boy or a girl. Just a few more days!

So baby #2 leads me to this....my blog name. I love the name of this blog. It's always been for my girl. Now I will have two little loves. As a family we will share in everything we do. Part of the purpose of this blog is to eventually print it out for my babies. I want to be able to share our family stories with them and print each one a copy of what I documented as they were growing without having to double blog in two separate places since most of our family activities will be together. Soon the name will be changing to include all of us as a family. I'm still brainstorming. It's hard. I'll also be getting a new design. Stay tuned.

  1. Congrats! I'm a total creeper (don't think I've commented before), I found you through TB when you were pregnant last time.
I had similar BP issues with my son so I'm nervous to get pregnant with #2. Are you going to go on BP meds now or wait to see if yours spikes again?

  2. Congrats on baby #2! Very exciting news. Blog names are tough -- I'll brainstorm too!

  3. Congrats! How exciting! I'm expecting baby #2 in April, and I think we were pregnant the first time together. Wishing you a healthy pregnancy! :-)

  4. So exciting, April! Congrats :) I've been reading along for a while...I'm a June Mama from TB (even though my baby Elena is a May baby). I'm also pregnant again-Due on August 24th :) Glad to follow along on this journey with you again!

  5. Thanks so much, ladies!

Lindsey- My OB has mentioned meds but today since my BP was a little lower 130/80, she said we will wait and see a little longer...

Courtney and Katie- Congrats to you two as well!

Katie, Finley was actually May 24th, just due June 11th. This baby will probably be a little early too.

  6. Woo Hoo! I were also on the June Mom's board with you but I haven't been on here since our babies were only a few months old. Finley is so gorgeous and congrats on the little boy, too!
