Full Term!!

It's here!

Seventeen weeks ago when all our troubles started I did NOT think we would make this day! Now here it is!

Look at me all greedy wanting more baby growing time ;) lol

...after all that time of trying to keep Miss Finley in, she's staying in on her own now! Figures!

Me, I enjoyed my two short days off bed rest. Yes, I'm back in bed trying to keep this blood pressure down. Although Finley is officially full term, she is measuring a little small and my cervix is only 1cm dilated so an induction at this point might cause some problems for us and lead to a c-section. It sure would be nice if she would come on her own! It sucks because as much as I want to get up and walk all over the place to egg on labor or at least make conditions better for an induction, I can't because of this dang blood pressure. Ugh. Can I just say I'm over this? I officially decided that last night. Horrible isn't it? Mainly I'm just over the worry and wondering when? When will that Dr appt come when they decide "okay that's it". I have a feeling we are about at the end of the rope. I'm just so indifferent because yes, I'm done worrying but I also want her to pack on more weight you know? Plus the induction stuff just scares me. I never wanted to end up with this chain of interventions leading to a c-section. Sigh....I guess we'll see how our story plays out soon enough...

For now, lets just celebrate the big 3-7!

37 Weeks Pregnant

Congratulations! You've got what is officially considered a full term baby , even with three weeks to go. That doesn't mean she's finished growing — in fact, she's still packing on about a half pound a week. That makes it a little crowded in your uterus, so she’s probably not kicking as much, though she’s probably stretching, rolling a bit, and wiggling (all of which you’ll be able to feel!). Right now, your little superstar is busy rehearsing for her big debut, inhaling and exhaling amniotic fluid (to get the lungs ready for that first breath), sucking her thumb (to prepare for that first suckle of milk), blinking, and turning from side to side.

  3. Yay for full term! I am sorry to hear that you are back on bed rest but I'm sure it will all work out for the best in the end. I can understand being "over it" but just try to focus on getting to hold your sweet baby girl in your arms soon. All of the bumps along the way will fade in to distant memories once you get to meet Finley in person. ;o)

  6. Congrats! Full-term is a huge accomplishment! I totally understand your fears about induction. I'm in the same boat right now. I'm hoping that the twins come before next weekend, so I can avoid it!

  7. I had to be induced (you are further along dilation wise than I was) and there was no chance of a c-section until she went into fetal distress. I wouldn't worry about it too much! if your doctor knows you dont want a c/s s/he will work hard to make sure you get your wishse. I think we get kind of scared by statistics and bump horror stories...but we are in one of the largest medical districts in the world, with better doctors than most people have access to. :) Not a single one of my friends in Houston had an unplanned c/s after induction, if that helps ease your worries!
