32 weeks!!

Back when I had my surgery to put the stitch in at 20 weeks this day seemed un-attainable. I hoped we would make it to 24, then 28. 30 was going to be amazing but now THIRTY-TWO! Wow. Finley is going to be just fine. I look back on all that constant worry. Those early days really do make me sad. I was so scared. We just didn't know. I remember being so amazed to hit 24. Amazed that a whole month had passed. If she came she would have had a fighting chance. Now here we are. 12 weeks later! Almost three months of bed rest past. I can just taste it getting closer now and I am so so excited. Joe asks all the time "how much longer?" My OB mentioned removing the stitch at around 36 to 37 weeks, about 4 1/2 weeks from now! I asked her at the last visit how long she thinks we'll go and she seemed to think until the stitch is removed. I'm going to add on a little time though, wishful thinking. My guess is around 38 weeks.

This week I go see the OB on Monday. On Wednesday (My 26th Birthday) it's off to the MFM to check on Miss Finley and my cervix measurement. He also monitors my blood pressure. Lets hope it's stable and no protein shows up on Monday. This is my biggest fear. Along with her growth, since I know high blood pressure can sometimes cause problems with that too....hoping for a good week with all good news! IF all turns out good I think I may possibly get a little more freedom come 35-36 weeks or so. Big "IF". For now they still want me down because of the blood pressure stuff. Blah.

I have a feeling she's doing great in there judging by her kicks. She'll go a few hours of being pretty calm and start to make me think and then bam, shes nudging knees and feet out and stretching the right side of my stomach like crazy. Since the 24 week scan she's been head down (doing a number on my cervix!) and her body is always resting on my left side while she kicks to the right, where she is facing. I can feel her little hiccups about 3-4 times a day now coming from the lower left. I can even cup the back of her body when she has them.

Your Baby in Week 32 of Pregnancy
What's up with your baby? She's starting to get ready for her big debut, tipping the scales at almost four pounds and topping out at just about 19 inches. In these past few weeks, it's all about practice, practice, practice as she hones the skills she'll need to thrive outside the womb — from swallowing and breathing to kicking and sucking. And speaking of sucking, your little one has been able to suck her thumb for a while now. Something else to note: As more and more fat accumulates under your baby's skin, she's becoming less transparent and more opaque.

  1. I can't believe the big 32 has finally come! I know exactly what you mean about feeling like it would never get here. Only a month to go and we've really made it. Enjoy your birthday this week- only 8 or so more weeks til we have our outside babies!
