26 Weeks!

Today we are 26 weeks. This was a mini goal of mine. Next big milestone, 28 weeks!

How your baby's growing:

The network of nerves in your baby's ears are better developed and more sensitive than before. She may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. She's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of her lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when she's born and takes that first gulp of air. And she's continuing to put on baby fat. She now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel.

She will soon start to open her eyes and they can even blink too. The eye development at this stage is now complete. The eye color is a pre-determined blue but after she is born the eye color can change.

I'm pretty excited because the shower invites came in yesterday and will start to go out this week. I will be 29 weeks on the day of my shower, on March 26th. Three weeks away!

-26 week survey-

Weight gain? up 7 lbs

How big is baby? a week and a half ago she was 1 lb 8 oz. I would guess she's creeping up on 2 lbs by now

Maternity clothes? I have one pair of pants, and some leggings. Regular shirts still fit. Although, I am in bed all the time so really do not need them. I just wear sweats.

Food cravings: sweets

Labor Signs: No! Thankfully!

Belly Button in or out? In, but getting flatter.

Stretchmarks? Not yet

How are you feeling? Good, a little achy from being in bed all the time. Especially my ankles.

What I am looking forward to: My shower in 3 weeks. The dresser and glider coming in soon.

What I miss: Living life.

Sleep: Normal. Not as comfortable though.

Best moment this week: Joe doing all of the yard work and planting new flowers. His Mom cleaning our entire house for me.
